Seth Resnik is a screenwriter living in Los Angeles.  A graduate of the Peter Stark Producing Program at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, Seth’s first student short film, “F__ho_se,” was nominated for a Student Academy Award.





FILM


Seth’s current feature assignment is an adaptation of Chris Ewan’s international best-selling thriller DEAD LINERooks Nest Entertainment are producers.


BLOOD COUNTRY, is an action-thriller set at the U.S.-Mexican border.  Jena Malone (Hunger Games, Inherent Vice) is attached to star.


Seth is a producer on THE ICEMAN, directed by Ariel Vromen and starring Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, Ray Liotta, Chris Evans and James Franco. 


Seth also wrote Vromen’s follow-up, a film adaptation of the Booker Prize-nominated novel, SNOWDROPS.  That project was bought at Cannes by QED International.


OCEANUS REX, a 3D action-thriller set in the Cretaceous era, was written on assignment for National Geographic Feature Films, in consultation with the Scripps Institute of Oceanography.


BIRTHRIGHT, an ensemble drama set in modern Israel, was written on assignment for award-winning director Eytan Fox (“Walk on Water,” “The Bubble”).


Seth’s first script, FIRE IN A COAL MINE, a feature-length political thriller set in Bosnia and co-written with Ron Moskovitz, was awarded a Nicholl Fellowship from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.  The script was also a selected project at the Sundance Independent Producers Conference.





TELEVISION



Seth is curr
ently writing FERAL, an original scripted drama for the Discovery Network.  Raw TV are producing.


THE LIMIT is a returning series for the Sundance Channel based on Michael Cannell’s critically-acclaimed non-fiction book about Grand Prix racing in 1960s postwar Europe.  Endor Productions & Patrick Dempsey are producers.


THE PANOPTICON, a police-noir thriller for the surveillance age, is in development at                

Channel 4 (UK).  ScottFree are producing.


CATHERINE THE GREAT, an eponymous biographical miniseries, is in development at Charlize Theron’s Denver & Delilah Productions.


WHIRLAWAY, a hard-cable drama set in the North Dakota fracking boom, is in development at MM Productions.




GENERAL


In addition to his MFA in film, Seth holds a dual-B.A. in Russian Studies and Economics from Colgate University (magna cum laude, phi beta kappa), and a J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School (Law Review).  Thereafter, he worked as a producer of aerial theater (AirRealistic) before turning to the cinematic arts.


Seth grew up in Washington D.C. and Leuven, Belgium.  He has backpacked through more than ninety countries, speaks Russian and French, loves scuba, photography, and bop-era vinyl, and enjoys writing about himself in the third person.
